Overview

House Tully is an old noble house, dating back to the Age of Heroes. Unlike many Great Houses they never ruled as kings, but held Riverrun for a thousand years as vassals of those who did. House Tully rose to prominence during the War of Conquest, when Lord Edmyn Tully led the rebel river lords who deserted King Harren the Black and joined Aegon the Conqueror. Edmyn was rewarded with dominion over the Riverlands.

Political Relations

Crownlands

  • House Targaryen - The Tullys are loyal to the crown. Recently a stronger tie was forged with the Betrothal of Thadeus Tully to Cerys Targaryen - alas, the union did not come to be, the betrothal was resolved. Most likely because of rumors about Thadeus Tully having indulged in too many scandalous dalliances with other women despite the betrothal. This has caused the relation between Tullys and Targaryens to cool down somewhat.

The Riverlands

  • House Blackwood - The old and ancient house of Blackwood, is one of their staunch supporters and loyal bannermen.
  • House Bracken - The Brackens are seen as loyal bannermen, though they are often feuding with House Blackwood. In usual Tully tradition, they've remain aloof in this quarrel, letting both sides see to it as they see fit. This may not be a proactive decision.
  • House Mallister - House Mallister is often seen as the Tully's favored bannermen.
