House Dayne
House Dayne of Starfall
House Dayne
"Words Unknown"
Head of House: Ysadora Qorgyle of Starfall
Title Lady Regent of Starfall
Predecessor: Armon Dayne
Heir: Nyandra Dayne
Colors: Purple and White
Seat: Starfall
Region: Dorne

House Dayne is one of the Houses that make up the stony Dornish subculture of Dorne. Like the rest of these northern Dornish houses that reside in and around the Red Mountains, they have fairer features than their sandy Dornish cousins.
Members of House Dayne are typically pale skinned with hair ranging from dark to very light, and are noted for often having purple eyes, despite the fact that they do not have any Valyrian blood running in their veins.

One of the most notable things about this house, however, is not their appearance but rather their ancestral sword. The Legend of the greatsword Dawn is that it was forged from a falling star, and this has been incorporated into the name of their seat, Starfall, as well as their coat of arms. Only a member of House Dayne who is most worthy, paragons of honor and justice, may be granted the right to wield Dawn and thus gain the title of The Sword of the Morning. If no member is worthy, the title lies dormant and the sword lays unused, until such time as a worthy knight of House Dayne appears.
